No, confirmation of pregnancy through our pregnancy test or a letter providing proof of pregnancy is necessary to establish you as a client before scheduling an ultrasound appointment.

If you're considering abortion, your initial step is a pre-termination appointment for an ultrasound.

Before scheduling an abortion, the ultrasound will determine:

1. The progression of your pregnancy which will help determine the eligibility and cost of different abortion procedures based on your health history and gestational age.

2. The viability of your pregnancy. The only reliable way to confirm a progressing pregnancy is through an ultrasound. Studies indicate that up to one-in-four pregnancies do not advance, and some women may not be aware of a miscarriage until it is detected during an ultrasound. If a miscarriage is identified, follow-up care from a doctor will be necessary.

Limited ultrasounds often DO:

• Detect fetal heartbeat
• Determine the approximate due date
• Identify the number of fetuses
• Recommend immediate medical attention at an emergency room if indicated

Limited ultrasounds DO NOT:

• Determine the sex of the baby
• Diagnose fetal abnormalities
