On other days, Alpha Support Center provides referrals for free, limited OB ultrasounds to determine gestational age, fetal heartbeat, and pregnancy location in the uterus.

If you're considering abortion, your initial step is a pre-termination appointment for an ultrasound.
Before scheduling an abortion, the ultrasound will determine:
-
The progression of your pregnancy which will help determine the eligibility and cost of different abortion procedures based on your health history and gestational age.
-
The viability of your pregnancy. The only reliable way to confirm a progressing pregnancy is through an ultrasound. Studies indicate that up to one-in-four pregnancies do not advance, and some women may not be aware of a miscarriage until it is detected during an ultrasound. If a miscarriage is identified, follow-up care from a doctor will be necessary.
